Introduction: My North West based client is a large player in their field, with an established presence and name.  The business in undergoing investment and development and as such are looking to recruit a Business Development Controller to join the Commercial team.

The Company: My client is an FMCG business who have undergone recent change and looking to further establish themselves in the market.  Based in the North West, my client heavily invests in NPD, with ambitions to become the master in their profession.  Passionate about all they do, this reflects across the whole company and looking for individuals who share their ambition for further development.

The Role: As Business Development Controller you will broadly undertake the duties of a National Account Manager having responsibility for the Discount and High Street Retail channel.  You will:

  • Take responsibility for a large existing portfolio with remit to grow
  • Work with the wider business holding responsibility for forecasting, pricing and promotion
  • Developing customer specific strategies and JBPs
  • Pro-actively develop a wide range of cross functional contacts
  • Pro-actively identify and maximise new business opportunities

The Candidate: Successful candidates will have already gained experience of the Discount and High Street retail channel and:

  • Ideally have held responsibility for either Aldi or Lidl
  • Hold strong communication skills
  • Hold strong negotiation and influencing skills
  • Hold demonstrable experience of further developing a portfolio of accounts
  • Will be commercial in nature, tenacious and able to work as part of a close knit team
