Procurement Manager – Not Just Sourcing The Product But Sourcing The Solution

Client reputations don’t get much better than this. Upper quartile, top of the league, class of their own; all such descriptions could easily describe them. What are they after? They want to enter the market to source a Procurement Manager but an individual with a twist. They are not necessarily looking for an individual at the hard end of the procurement function who would but “bang” the phones day after day. No…we believe it is highly likely that the right person could/would be placed currently elsewhere in the supply chain. Reason? What is more important for creating the success in the role is going to the softer skills element. Examples and requirements being excellent communication, great ability to build cracking supplier relationships and the full ability to be able to lead and motivate and bring with them their supplier base.  

The role day to day will necessitate all of the direct communication with suppliers and the management of the supply chain from the ground up into the business. Strategically, you will set up, create and deliver 1-3 year procurement plans whilst managing stock levels ongoing with your team/s. And this is all about making a difference so you need to focus on profit margins and sales levels working in conjunction with the senior management team.

Being results orientated and used to change and managing everything that comes with that, you will make your mark quickly in this business but also for the longer term, as other roles/projects will await your success we are sure.
