Planning Manager

Plan the manufacture of all Bulk products in the most efficient and effective way, based on the current sales forecast and strategic plan. Manage Demand / Supply planning and balancing and forecasting process in both strategic and operational horizon



Position
  • The complexity of the Business, with regards to the number of product lines that attention to detail and a good working knowledge of the specialized planning systems are essential in order to control the business whilst consistently meeting customer requirements.
  • The Job Holder will also be required to:
    • Develop , formalize and continually improve Planning & Secondary forecasting process
    • Prepare presentations for key reviews of the business cycle
    • Administer and maintain the specific planning databases / systems
    • Actively manage stock profiles in order to maximise commercial plans and opportunities
    • Create ad -hoc simulations for alternative Supply/Stock profile/Capacity scenarios to inform key business decisions




Principal Accountabilities
  • Produce demand forecast in collaboration with Procurement team in both operational and Strategic horizons
  • Implement plans and monitor all areas of the business with regards to production, 3rd party purchases, sales and stocks. Where appropriate this should be on a daily, weekly and period end basis in order to control all aspects of the Ensure that the data is updated on a regular basis and provide data extracts to all relevant operational sites in a meaningful format.
  • Forecast and control all availability plans, on a monthly basis. Identify and assess opportunities for reductions in stock levels and/or improve factory utilisation.
  • Liaise with production, distribution and quality assurance to ensure efficient movement of product from Manufacture into final use and customer. Identify and monitor substitution decisions in line with the agreed business process.
  • Support a continuing programme to further develop planning processes.
  • Review and recommend and further developments to all planning applications, in order to manage and cope with the ever increasing complexity of the business. Automate, wherever possible, the period monitors and all data loading procedures. Ensure that all systems are integrated with the companies own Business Systems Strategy.




Experience Required

  • Educated to Degree level (or equivalent) in preferably supply chain, logistics, purchasing or business.
  • Knowledge of practical statistics for process control and analysis purposes.
  • Several years experience in management - preferably in logistics, materials management or supply chain.
  • Good systems skills including warehouse and planning systems plus PC skills. (Spreadsheet, word processing, databases).
  • Ability to reason logically and present findings in an orderly fashion.
  • Ability to interact with all levels external to the site to build quality relationships that operate in a positive nature to the site.
  • Ability to challenge and support challenges at multiple levels across the business to ensure an effective supply chain setup
