An exciting new opportunity has arisen within a market leading manufacturer of food and drink products. They hold an impressive portfolio of both branded and own label products that are supplied to a number of highly regarded retail and foodservice customers. The business also has an ingredients arm that supplies renowned food manufacturers such as Greencore, Samworth Brothers, Bakkavor and many more. Having recently seen rapid growth in the North of England they are now looking to recruit a Sales Manager to bolster their business to business sales force.
As Sales Manager you will be responsible for managing existing relationships with their business to business accounts whilst actively generating new opportunities for the food ingredients sector of the company. As part of the senior management team you will attend all sales meetings, develop sales strategy and put in place joint business plans for your customer base. You will be responsible for managing and coaching 2 sales representatives and there is a genuine opportunity for you to progress to Sales Director within 3 years.
To be considered for this opportunity you MUST have a technical background from within food manufacturing. In order to be successful in this role a working understanding of new product development processes is essential as you will need the ability to confidently advise your customer base on the technical aspects of their orders. You must be a commercially minded, resilient sales manager with a proven track record for account growth and new business acquisition within a business to business environment, preferably with experience managing a small team. An understanding of Sage business reporting is also a plus.
