Reporting into the Retail Controller, the National Account Manager will be working for one of the UKs leading fresh prepared food manufacturers. Focusing on excellence in quality, service, innovation and consumer understanding, the business specialises in the supply of fresh, convenient food, supplying a range of prepared products into retail and food service customers. Since the company’s incorporation, the business has now grown, turning over in excess of £100million within the UK.  Due to continued growth, there is now a requirement for a National Account Manager with a retail focus to join their team in Sussex.

The main responsibilities shall include;

  • Negotiating annual Joint Business Plans (JBPs) with Customer.
  • Driving distribution of existing and new products.
  • Negotiating on all elements of cost pricing, terms and promotions within the company guidelines.
  • Delivering on agreed price increases.
  • Managing effective communication with Customer
  • Communicating competitor and market activity into the organisation.
  • Directing customer contact across all relevant functions.
  • Taking ownership of the customer volume & financial forecasting.
  • Monitoring sales vs forecast on daily basis and understanding performance.
  • Working with key Customer on range (category) recommendations.
  • Working with Supply Chain team to maximise customer service levels.

You shall be expected to have at least 3 years’ experience working as a National Account Manager, working in a chilled/short shelf life food category. In addition, you will have experience working with at least one of the Top 4 retailers. You should have a working knowledge of NPD challenges and processes, with an excellent understanding of relationship building, and a customer mindset that delivers excellence and client trust.
