The Role

Reporting to the Purchasing Manager you’ll be building and maintaining relationships within your designated supply base whilst evaluating costs and negotiating contracts to ensure targeted savings are met. You'll implement the buying plan supply chain strategy, striving for higher levels above competitors through the continuous improvement of commercial performance and procurement processes. Liaising with internal teams such as NPD, Technical and Sales you’ll also be working together to deliver projects on time and to budget ensuring all new business opportunities are captured.

The Person

We are looking for a proactive and polished Purchasing or Supply Chain professional with a CIPS qualification and previous experience within an FMCG food manufacturing company, ideally within the chilled sector. With your excellent commercial awareness, methodical approach and first class negotiation skills, you’ll be confident managing a wide supply base to develop steadfast relations for mutually beneficial partnerships. Your communication skills must be second to none as you’ll be working with interdepartmental teams to deliver projects that produce efficient and profitable results. You’ll also need to have excellent problem solving skills along with a proven ability to work effectively within a fast-paced, high-pressure team environment.
