Summary

The Business Development Manager will be responsible for utilising existing contacts and market knowledge in order to 'hit the ground running' from day 1, generating new business and closing short terms deals as well as managing long term sales deals in order to ensure pipeline of sales.

You will also be required to account manage a small amount of existing business and new business brought on. You will also update the company CRM system efficiently, quickly and report back on a weekly basis to HO. This role covers Scotland and the North of England and has the potential to progress into a sales management role.

My retained and exclusive client is a global leader in Packaging Solutions. They are a one stop shop for packaging solutions as my client provides a tailored and bespoke package to clients across vertical markets. Their product portfolio includes the latest premium offerings in labelling software and systems to machines to coding products for vertical markets.

The customer base ranges greatly across the industrial marketplace from food and beverage, pharmaceutical to logistics, warehousing, automotive and plastics.


Description

The successful candidate will have the following responsibilities:
* Identify new business opportunities through vertical markets such as food and beverage companies, pharmaceutical, logistics, warehousing etc.
* Provide efficient solutions to customer's labelling requirements.
* Develop further opportunities in both new and existing accounts through cross selling of product portfolio.
* Locate, develop and manage new channel and reseller partners.
* Prepare quotations and detailed proposals.
* Devise sales and marketing strategies and plans to achieve ambitious and targeted growth.
* Work closely with the rest of the executive team to develop the company's strategy and business plans.
* Identify and develop new lines of revenue opportunity within short term and long term sales cycles.
* Meet and exceed customer expectations and deliver the best possible customer service.
* Promote the Company brand in the target markets.

The ideal candidate should be able to manage their own sales activity, pipeline and demonstrate a proven track record in a professional sales environment.
The candidate will operate within a monthly targeted environment.



Profile

The successful Business Development Manager will have the following demonstrable skills:
* Proven track record of sales within the packaging, packaging solutions or auto identification industry.
* Ability to manage full sales cycle from lead generation through to closing of deal.
* Successful candidates must have at least 3 years experience in Sales / Account management, in a Labelling, Coding, or Auto Identification environment and have a proven track record of growing business relationships with customers and/or channels to achieve sales targets.
* Experience of meeting and exceeding sales targets in line with business expectations.
* Ability to create, implement and execute on commercial engagements and produce accurate forecasting reports.
* Must be hunter of new business, hungry to succeed, a quick learner, resourceful, enthusiastic and an energetic self starter with initiative and self motivation.
* Strong business acumen and relationship management skills.
* Must be highly organised and outgoing with excellent communication and presentation skills.
* Good commercial awareness within the packaging industry and customer understanding, an aptitude for working as part of a team and be prepared for frequent travel as this is a field based role.


Job Offer

£35k basic salary + uncapped commission (realistic OTE £50-60k) + fully expensed company car + benefits package + phone + laptop + career progression
