Tommy Tucker (Thomas Tucker Limited) is a well-established food manufacturing SME with an annual turnover exceeding £15m. With strong presence in the retail and leisure industries throughout the UK and Europe we are currently supplying top 10 retailers and leisure operators whilst also supporting some of the UK market leading brands.

The role

We are looking for a National Account Manager to take full responsibility of leading and implementing a sales strategy for an internationally recognised (licensed) branded food product. The role will be based around identifying new markets, introducing the product to retailers, working with buyers on packaging and product developments, preparing commercials (set to targets), presenting to high level buyers in order to secure new sales in National/European retail chains, independents and wholesalers.

The person

You’ll be an experienced National Account Manager (or similar) with at least 3-5 years’ experience and a proven strong track record of B2B sales to retailers, independents and wholesalers. You’ll be accustomed to creating an active professional network with key contacts within the industry and thrive on being proactive in order to win new business & meet sales targets. We’ll need you to be responsive and flexible to timescales, hours and travel (during peak periods). You’ll need to be self-motivated and driven with very strong interpersonal and communication skills to be able to negotiate with customers and influence team members at all levels. We encourage independence and creativity, and expect to see innovative and enthusiastic leadership skills.

Responsibilities:

  • Define markets, customer requirements and drive a new brand into UK/European retailers.

  • Take responsibility of new lead generation, new business networking and selling into retail and leisure buyers at head office level.

  • Drive distribution of existing and new products.

  • Work effectively with customers, suppliers, NPD and internal departments to develop product formats as well as promotions and merchandising.

  • Negotiate with retailers, present commercials and complete the sales process to achieve growth.

  • Effectively raise the company profile within the industry by familiarisation trips to key venues and networking at industry events.

  • Work closely with customers, social media and press to promote the product in store and with the consumer directly.

Essentials:

  • 3-5 years Sales experience within FMCG industry.

  • Excellent written, spoken and presentation skills.

  • Commercially aware & numerically agile

  • Excellent negotiation and communication skills

  • Ability to use Excel, Microsoft Word, Power Point.

  • Full drivers licence
