My client is one of the UK's largest Retailers who are looking for a supply chain manager to join and head up all supply chain activities for the UK.

Supply Chain Manager

Leveraging all areas of the Supply Chain, secure the development and delivery of key Inventory metrics, support the maximisation of the on time delivery performance and support the tracking and driving of the monthly forecasting goals.

Co-ordinate and run the brand S&OP process, leveraging best practice both internally and externally to evolve the process according to the needs of the business.



Key job responsibilities and Principle Accountability

  • Set direction for and manage 6 Supply Chain analysts and one assistant supply chain manager.
  • Set annual and seasonal Inventory goals which align to the business needs and support the development of the business.
  • Provide analysis and needed actions on excess inventory generation and liquidation projections; balancing wholesale and D2C needs.
  • Work with the DC team in order to flow / understand the capacity constraints of the DC and work to determine actions to mitigate working with all areas of the Supply Chain.
  • Highlight areas or risk / opportunity vs the stated inventory goals to Senior Management and propose / drive actions to ensure the inventory performance is maximised.
  • Against the stated goal of on time delivery, support the maximisation of on time performance working with Customer Services, the DC, Logistics and the Vendor base.
  • Working cross functionally, ensure that S&OP follow up actions are carried out and that the S&OP process is evolved in line with the changing needs of the business.
  • Produce proper documentation and feedback to manager in a timely manner regarding workloads, reports, KPIs, issues, team needs in terms of training, and any other relevant topics that may arise
  • Assist and assure adequate selection and training of staff, identifying and communicating developmental opportunities and assuring resources are properly supported
  • Other responsibilities as required and directed by Supply Chain management

Subordinates: 6 Supply Chain analysts and 1 assistant supply chain manager

Desirable Qualifications:



Required study level for this job: University Degree



Required experience for this job:

At least five years experience in Forecasting and Planning

At least 2 years team management experience



Required technical knowledge for this job:
  • Excellence in Excel & SAP or equivalent
  • Team player
  • Proactive and of a "continuous improvement" mind-set.
  • Strong qualitative and quantitative skills strong work ethic with ability to work independently and achieve deadlines
  • Excellent communication skills in English
  • Flexible in thinking style and in the ability to work within a dynamic working environment where priorities frequently change, whilst meeting key deadlines
