One of Europe’s most successful manufacturers of both chilled and ambient food products have created a new opportunity for a  Marketing Manager to help further develop their brand leading ambient products. Within the last 5 years the UK business has grown profitably, in excess of £40m, this is largely due to their constant development of market leading products. The business manufactures all their own products from their 25 factories globally stretching from the UK to China. Their impressive product portfolio includes both branded and own label premium ambient foods as well as a wide range of chilled dairy products. They have a very strong offering within all of the top 6 grocery multiples as well as the various foodservice channels. Following on from the recent growth and the increased demand for their products they have created a new position for a Marketing Manager (SBM) to further develop their leading brands’ marketing activities and strategy.

Role:

Reporting to the Sales and Marketing Director, whilst also managing a direct report, the main purpose of the role is to develop the brand to exceed budgeted sales and deliver day to day management of the brand in the UK and identifying category stretch.

Main Tasks and Responsibilities:

• Contribute to the delivery of the company’s vision and business plan
• Lead the development and execution of the annual marketing plans for the brand.
• Develop optimum consumer and shopper communication media and PR.
• Critically review the business’ proposition in light of competitors
• Innovation planning & development with a clear pipeline of NPD
• Packaging development and maintenance of brand image
• Manage a clear product portfolio strategy, covering pricing and promotions
• Monthly reporting using internal and external data.
• Monitor and control the marketing budget for consumer spend.
• Accompany and support the Commercial Managers at customer meetings.
• Customise marketing plans to meet specific customer objectives.
• Management of the external Marketing Agencies.
• Main day to day contact for factories for Commercial and Marketing.
• Effectively manage and inspire a Marketing Executive

Requirements

To be considered for this role, you will have experience of working in a similar role where your strengths will lie in the ability to read beyond data and use your natural skill to capture the essence of the products’ required positioning and be well placed to execute brand plans, using seasoned presentation skills. You will also have:

• Proven FMCG Brand Management experience
• A track record of success in a medium sized business with proven success in developing recognised brands
• A passion for brand development
• Degree educated
• Passion , energy and enthusiasm
• Strategic and creative thinking
• Analytical thinking
• Clarity of communication & presentation style and impactful internal & external influence
• Hard working , highly organized and efficient
• Proven results orientation
• Experienced in consumer and Shopper marketing media, ideally including TV
