Job Details



Managing your own territory and calling on grocery or convenience stores, you will represent the client's brand and build excellent relationships in stores with key contacts. You will maximise sales opportunities for your brand to achieve agreed targets and set objectives.


Stakeholder Relationships

  • Build and maintain strong business relationships for the benefit of McCurrach and its client(s) with store owners, managers and staff, business unit colleagues and client contacts
  • Develop contact with wholesale colleagues to ensure sufficient stock in cash & carry (where required)




Accountability & Responsibility

  • Utilise technology and data to present selling arguments and capture in-store results
  • Deliver store coverage in line with targets, professionally representing McCurrach and the client
  • Demonstrate personal ownership of territory objectives and targets
  • Manage your call file, keeping track of store changes and closures
  • Keep clear receipts of stock sold to retailers and submit appropriate paperwork as required by the business unit (as required)





Knowledge & Skills

  • Work on your own initiative, managing your own territory
  • Develop and proactively report high levels of insight/ knowledge in terms of client category and brands, account policies, systems, processes and competitors




Decision making


  • Influence stores to order stock through their own systems, selling stock to stores using all available tools
  • Utilise selling skills to deliver business objectives, maximise sales opportunities in-line with agreed current client objectives
  • Influence for maximum benefit the appropriate sales levers in store - distribution (product is stocked), availability (product is available), space (product is visible and has fair share of space) and display (promotions displayed correctly with appropriate POS
    • Ensure effective brand merchandising where appropriate

People Development & Support

  • Act as primary contact sharing knowledge and insight, providing on call support to the client, operating out with normal working hours as required, coaching the wider business team and peers as required
  • Experience working in a retail, sales or customer facing role (desirable)
  • Excellent communication, organisation and time management skills
  • Ability to work as part of a team and individually
  • Ability to use own initiative
  • Excellent presentation skills
  • Self-motivated and enthusiastic
  • Professional in appearance and manner
  • Good IT skills
  • Full UK driving licence with less than 6 points and no previous bans as the package for this role comes with a company vehicle
