Senior National Account Manager - FMCG Health & Beauty

London

£50,000 - £60,000 plus lucrative bonus structure, car allowance pension scheme, healthcare

 

About our Client:

This business has a number of the best recognised brands in the health and beauty marketplace.  They are now looking for a talented account manager to build profitable sales growth across the three pillars of their business, cosmetics, toiletries and fragrance.

Not only will also manage and develop the team with responsibility for their financials, but you will also support their professional development through the business.  

 

About the Role:

Business Planning

  • Build an understanding of customer objectives and direction
  • Plan, develop, agree and implement an annual Joint Business plan with the specified customer
  • Design an annual promotional programme for each brand across all platforms (in store and on line) in liaison with the marketing team to deliver national marketing plan, sales objectives, customer and consumer needs
  • Maximise commercial value of consumer insight data
  • Review pre and post promotional activity analysis to maximise key learnings

 

Financial responsibilities

  • Manage monthly, quarterly and annual sales forecasts and provide rationale to senior management team
  • Manage Gross to net controls to optimise profitability
  • Manage promotional budget to drive consumer awareness whilst maximising profitability
  • Accurately prepare financial accrual requests and implement these with the commercial team
  • Successfully overall manage the full P&L

 

People Management

  • Manage the customer support team of National Account Executive and/or National Account Co-ordinator
  • Set annual team and individual objectives
  • Monitor performance and recognise positive behaviour and provide coaching in areas of need
  • Motivate team by being a role model

 

Strategic Planning

  • Develop plans at a more strategic level in order to build specified categories of business within the customer to deliver short and long term company, customer and consumer objectives
  • Develop strategic projects with the customer to ensure future growth of the business
  • Liaise with the senior buying teams at the customer to maximise the trading relationship.

 

About You:

Desired Skills and Experience

  • Account Management experience and a passion for the Health and Beauty sector
  • Effective communicator  - able to negotiate and influence
  • Has a strong sense of individual accountability - able to work with autonomy
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills and can manage cross functional relationships
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Committed to deliver results, tracking individual goals and objectives
  • Has a flexible approach and adapts to challenges and changing priorities as needed
  • Strong team player and collaborates easily with others, willing to help and learn from others and shares relevant information with the team
  • Commercially aware with experience in P and L management, budget planning and customer management
