Summary:

Global FMCG brand with a centralized Indirect Procurement function in London.  Looking to recruit a high calibre individual to lead the Indirect Procurement team across the UK region.

Job Description:

The role of Senior Indirect Procurement Manager is to provide commercial leadership, strategic direction and delivery of solutions across a number of category areas working as the “number 2” to the Director of Procurement.

Essentially, to use previous experience to drive fundamental change, working in a collaborative way and deliver material Procurement Value (including savings) to the business that can be reinvested in marketing campaigns.

The successful candidate will manage a number of categories of spend including associated suppliers likely to include:

  • Marketing (excluding Media)
  • HR
  • Digital
  • Legal
  • Construction

Responsibilities will include:

  • Team management and leadership
  • Driving and delivering maximum value (cost reduction and enhanced services) from the categories;
  • Consolidating requirements / supplier base across the UK Region  leveraging the UK Region’s buying power to deliver lower costs;
  • Developing, maintaining and delivering sustainable sourcing strategies (in conjunction with stakeholders) that support business needs
  • Understanding and leveraging the external supply market (in terms of cost reductions, innovation and new solutions) to the benefit of the UK Region;
  • Delivering procurements in a timely, effective and cost efficient way negotiating lowest cost solutions for the agreed specification.

To be considered for this role, it is essential that you have the following skills and experience:

  • Degree educated, energetic and career driven
  • Proven track record of leading Indirect Categories of spend and delivering value to the business
  • People management experience – leading a team
  • Strategic thinking - knows how to identify, understand and take account of key strategic drivers affecting the delivery system
  • Persuades and influences through highly developed written and oral communication skills
  • Excellent stakeholder engagement skills
