We are currently looking for a Business Unit Manager for our Consumer Goods Europe, Personal Care UK & ROI division, to achieve maximum sales potential, maximum distribution and maximum Gross Contribution with a number of major retailers
The position is home based, with 2-3 days per week spent at our Manchester airport office, and reports to the Business Unit Controller.
Main Tasks & Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain strategic business relationships with specified customers’ Personal Care teams, to promote brand awareness and secure profitable business.
- Develop, implement and monitor customer specific sales processes and account plans to meet/ exceed sales targets.
- Manage full P&L.
- Frequently analyse customer information to discover and manage business risks and opportunities.
- Recommend products and services (value proposition) that fit well with clients business needs.
- Drive contract negotiations, including terms and conditions, product offers and pricing in line with overall product and pricing strategies.
- Generate knowledge on market development/ customer needs and competitor activities and distribute to internal stakeholders.
- Implement a promotional programme in line with company objectives and strategy and manage spend at appropriate levels.
- Ensure all administration is completed on time and accurately – both SCA internal and external customers.
Educational background & key competencies
- University Degree education or equivalent
- Minimum 3-4 years sales experience in an FMCG environment
- Experience of managing a major national retailer
- IT Skills (advanced level)
- Drives continuous improvements
- Consumer and customer focused
- Excellent verbal and written skills
- Ability to work independently
- Structured approach with analytical and problem solving skills
- Availability to travel nationwide.
