Interim Category Manager – Chilled Foods

6 month contract up to £350 a day

My client are market leaders in premium desserts produced for the retailers. Their product portfolio consists of high quality cheesecakes, sponge puddings, cupcakes, meringues and celebration foods. As a business, they turnover around £30m with continual year on year growth that has led to a large increase of headcount over recent years. They are now looking for a Category Manager to cover maternity leave.

As Category Manager your responsibilities will include:

• Customer facing M&S and Tesco for all category requirements including: Involvement with ranging and merchandising reviews, cross supplier workshops and joint supplier market overview presentations, leading any specific sub category / format reviews and working closely with the NPD Controller to provide innovation sessions as required.
• Management of the retail audit for desserts by ensuring all significant new launch windows and 'Desserts events' are captured and put into customer friendly documents to share with our key contacts in a timely fashion. 
• Management of market data & research by maintaining and utilising Kantar and Dunnhumby data sources. 

To be considered for the role you must have previous experience as a Category Manager within a food manufacturing business. You must have a passion for food and have previous success working closely with the retailers in a customer facing role.
