As one of the UK’s most successful importers and distributors of premium ambient food products, my client offers a wide array of products including Pasta, Olive Oil, Pasta Sauces, Tomato Products and Pickles. The business has been trading for over 15 years and turns over in excess of £50m. They are a privately owned business that has continued to grow profitably year on year. They have a strong presence within the retail channel and have longstanding relationships with the likes of Sainsbury’s, Tesco, Asda, Morrisons and Waitrose.
Due to the growth of the business and the demand for products, my client now requires a Business Development Manager to continue development of their existing retail business and to open up new trading relationships across the Foodservice, Food Manufacturing and Wholesale/ Cash & Carry channels.
Role
As a Business Development Manager you will take full responsibility for the development of an existing grocery multiple portfolio valued in the region of £5m. You will also be tasked with developing new trading relationships across the Foodservice, Wholesale and Food Manufacturing channels. Reporting to the General Manager, you must be comfortable working in a fast-paced environment, both as a team and autonomously. To succeed in the role you must possess a can do attitude, a desire to be challenged and a hunger to work in hands on environment.
Requirements
To be considered for this role you must be a driven and dynamic individual with a proven track record of growing and developing business within a food business. As for product background, experience within the ambient category is preferred but not essential. It is important that you can fit into a smaller business culture and have the ability to stand on your own. My client is looking for a loyal individual that wants to be a part of the company’s long term plans and growth strategy. As for location, you will need to be within commutable distance to their head office in Berkshire.
