McDonald's is one of the world's largest and most recognisable restaurant chains and in the UK alone, serves over 3 million customers every day from more than 1250 restaurants. That doesn't happen by accident. Our hard working restaurant teams are supported by a team of world-class individuals in our Head Offices who together, achieve exceptional results. McDonald's has built an unprecedented reputation as an employer of choice and have been recognised for their diversity, as well as the contributions made to the communities they operate in. That's why they've been awarded number 9 in the Sunday Times 25 Best Big Companies to work for in 2015.
Rarely does an opportunity arise to join this team but due to recent developments, McDonald's now seeks a Food Development Officer to drive menu innovation.
Reporting to the Food Development Manager, you will be responsible for all food innovation, exciting new promotional food concepts, from product brief to restaurant launch. Working cross-functionally with Supply Chain and Marketing, you will continuously develop commercially viable products that will tantalise and entice consumers. As a strong project manager, you will deliver a flawless development timeline, heading any food presentations and consumer research projects. You will take the lead on stakeholder communication, ensuring buy-in from all relevant departments, resulting in alignment across the organisation.
All applicants must be Degree educated or equivalent in a Food related discipline. A background in foodservice would be advantageous but not essential; however significant experience within the food industry is imperative. Candidates will have a good knowledge of Windows based operating systems, exceptional numerical and analytical skills, with the ability to communicate with ease cross functionally. Successful candidates will have proven project management skills with the ability to think outside the box. Key to success within McDonald's is a strong, resilient and enthusiastic personality; for success in this position you must possess a true passion for food.
