Based: Lincolnshire
Basic Salary Circa: £45,000 - £55,000 + 20% Bonus + Executive Package + Quality Company Car + Quarterly Incentives
My client is a highly successful and diverse food manufacturing business who are innovation lead and supply into the Food Manufacturing sectors. Operating from their state of the art production facility in Lincolnshire but with ambitious plans for growth, including competitor acquisition. With a total solution service, they supply core ingredients through to manufacturing roasted vegetables, sauces, dressing, drizzles and marinades. Due to their rapid growth they are looking for a Business Development Manager with a strong track record of sales into food manufacturers.
The Role:
- You will be tasked with generating new business with food manufacturers, by building business relationships through face to face meetings and then managing those relationships.
- As well as new business generation you will also have account management responsibility for a portfolio of existing customers.
- Reporting to the UK Sales Director you will be required to maintain a vibrant pipeline of new business and compile development plans for existing clients.
- You will be able to generate interest and commitment from customers (NPD / Technical as well as Commercial) through demonstrable product and industry knowledge and then converting this interest into sales.

The Requirements:
- Must have a minimum 5 years sales experience in this product sector and customer base.
- A demonstrable track record of sales success into food manufacturers, as opposed to retail and foodservice, is essential.
- Ideally possess a Technical background (with a working knowledge of BRC, HACCP, traceability, storage, packaging etc.)
- Degree education would be advantageous but is not essential
- Enthusiasm and determination combined with a pragmatic approach to your work are essential traits for this person.
- Time management and strong organisational qualities are essential as you will work remotely a lot of the time, including traveling across the UK plus some International.
