The Company:

A well established, privately owned and successful company with huge ambition for the future. From traditional routes the company has grown from purely sales to UK retailers to launching an internet sales channel and they have an export launch planned. They plan to strengthen their UK sales team and this vacancy has been created through the planned retirement of a long serving colleague. The office is based near to Leyland, Lancashire.

The Role of National Sales Manager:

We are looking for a National Sales Manager who will make a positive impact to all office based staff and this role will be office based in Leyland when not travelling on business.

The National Sales Manager will be tasked with:

  • Creating and delivering a strategy for growth
  • Assess potential of present and future products and markets
  • Positively impacting on all existing team members – providing training and coaching that creates enthusiasm, drive and ambition
  • Coordinating and targeting all sales activities
  • Regular communication and feedback with the sales team and the Board
  • Personal account management of key retail customers

The Profile of this National Sales Manager:

We are looking for a commercially orientated sales manager who will embrace working in a private business where commitment and loyalty are highly regarded.

Other important qualities are:

  • Proven successful experience of managing field sales and office based sales personnel
  • Able to conceive and drive a sales strategy that delivers growth
  • Personally able to achieve sales growth from key retail accounts
  • Experience selling to UK retail stores – ideally in pet, garden, DIY or high street channels although grocery experience would also be interesting
  • Located within a commutable distance of Leyland – Preston, Blackburn, Bolton, Liverpool etc
