Commercial Manager / Sales Manager - Grocery

Higgidy is the UK’s fastest growing premium pie and quiche manufacturer.  Their tasty, pastry based products are all hand-made by cooks in the "big kitchen" in Shoreham by Sea (near Brighton), and are available nationwide.  Higgidy will make 17 million pies/quiches/sausage rolls this year, and we’re doubling the size of the kitchen (again) ready for the future

We are seeking an established commercial manager with experience in the grocery channel, building and growing distribution for a branded FMCG business, or successfully delivering a multi-million own label program. You will be know by your customers for going above the cause, being passionate about your business and a skilled negotiator. 

The role:

• To manage and develop the overall relationship with one or more of our key customers, with a focus on the sales and marketing functions
• Full P&L responsibility for one or more of the “Big 5” grocery retailers
• Drive sales growth through implementation of Higgidy commercial and marketing strategy
• Deliver against sales and profitability targets
• Use customer knowledge and data analysis to provide insights and input into commercial strategy
• Seek and cultivate new business opportunities

A successful candidate will be:

• Pro-active, confident, passionate sales person with proven influencing skills
• Strong analytical skills, and capability to present findings concisely
• Proven capability in generating and building commercial relationships
• Graduate level with 3+ years FMCG sales experience
• Passion for working in a small, fast growing business environment
