Business Unit Controller – Grocery Multiples

Location: South East / M4 Corridor / Flexible x3 days in office minimum

When it comes to developing category leading food brands and being recognised for leading innovation then they don’t come much bigger than this food manufacturer. With their continued investment into product development and people it’s no wonder they are held in such high regard by their competitors and customers.

Clearly, this food manufacturer is not small. In fact, they are the major player in a huge food category worth well in excess of £1 bn in the UK, and that’s not all!! With ambitious growth plans including £multi-million investment, they are now looking to strengthen an already first-class commercial team.

You will continually review & develop their grocery strategy as well as line managing a large proportion of this function. The nature of the customers means that their strategic importance to our client is huge hence their intent to invest further into it. Should the successful applicant succeed in growing this already £multi-million portfolio, the door for fast progression will definitely be open.

You will:

  • Set & deliver winning grocery account strategies.
  • Direct a team focussed on delivering of an innovative and exciting range of leading brands and own brand products into the UK’s top grocery multiples.
  • Manage sales investment expenditure to budget, shape account JBPs as well as setting an effective promotional strategy.

To succeed in the role you will have:

  • Exceptional branded commercial awareness coupled with a proven track record gained within a progressive fmcg environment
  • Be able to demonstrate success in convenience / grocery sales along with excellent influencing & line management experience
  • Demonstrated impressive business achievements through consumer insight, bringing energy and motivation to the commercial team.
  • Strong relationship-building skills, and are ready to make an impact on strategy and category plans from day one.
