About us

You will be joining Hovis Limited, the company responsible for the iconic British brand that is synonymous with bread and baking and which has led most of the significant changes in the category. Co-owned by the Gores Group, we’re a new business launched in 2014 to upgrade operational infrastructure and build on the rich heritage of the Hovis name.  Around 3,800 people produce Hovis, Mothers Pride, Ormo and retailer-branded products from 10 bakeries, 6 flour mills and 2 regional distribution centres across the UK.

The role

This is a key role within the Commercial function of our Sales department. You will have the autonomy to create imaginative customer plans that deliver against ambitious business objectives.  We want you to build strong relationships, gain an understanding of customer strategies and goals and then align our own plans to them. There’s real opportunity to make your mark by finding unique propositions for retailers that achieve value for all parties. 
It will be vital to build a strong, high performing team that understand its remit and goals – and is alert to the threats, opportunities and best practices within our marketplace. Through engaging leadership you can make a highly visible impact on turnover and profit.

Your profile

You will be able to draw on significant commercial experience in the FMCG commercial arena, including a proven record of developing high value relationships - at a senior level across multiple functions. 
You need experience of P&L management beyond volume and turnover, and a sound understanding of business profit/cost drivers. It’s important that you’re happy to take personal responsibility for high-pressure decisions.
A highly effective team player, you will combine excellent motivational skills with the ability to identify and nurture talent. You will also bring a keen focus on out-performing competitors through innovative thinking and urgent execution.
