A Business Development Executive is required to manage medium sized B2B accounts for this successful family owned food ingredients business.

The role of Business Development Executive is to identify opportunities to develop new accounts with food manufacturers in the North East and Scottish boarders. Additionally to maintain existing major accounts through the introduction of innovative or bespoke new products. The product range of this food ingredients business includes seasonings, rubs and glazes for the food manufacturing industry with a primary focus on the meat sector but also into the bakery sector. Additionally they supply functional ingredients such as brines, cures, binders, texturizers, gels and much more. The company is a successful family owned operation that has grown consistently over the last 35 years with investment into its infrastructure and excellent staff retention levels.

Responsibilities will include:
  • Developing new and innovative ways of selling products
  • Maintaining existing relationships and cultivating new opportunities
  • Delivering presentations to prospective customers
  • Representing the company at trade exhibitions
  • Working closely to link customers to the NPD team
  • Understand the market place, competitors activities and new products to market


This role will be tied to their sales centre in the North East but can primarily be a home based position. There is considerable scope for growth in this area of the business with may potential business already identified.

The business has an excellent culture of openness and support with senior management that value the input of everyone in the team. They value customer service very highly and recruit people they feel will be able to represent the values of the business to their customers. People with a background in the meat, bakery or ingredients sectors traditionally do well and for this level of role must have previous sales experience in the food sector. Practical experience of using products such as theirs give a huge benefit to the sales team.
