An outstanding career development opportunity for an experienced Brand Manager to take responsibility for a growing 'quintessentially English' personal care & toiletries brand. The role has full responsibility for the complete, growing product range, from initial concept, through control of UK based contract manufacturing (production, packaging, POS etc) to driving growth throughout the UK & export markets.

Control of Brand Profitability

Take responsibility for sourcing finished products from contract manufacturer negotiating cost and minimum order quantities.

Liaise with product designers to ensure the continual development of new products in line with market trends & developments.

To control product assortment strategy, including NPD & NPL. To influence Sales and Sales Promotions & Planning on pricing and sales mix. To accurately control the marketing investment in line with the agreed Marketing Plan, and to reconcile and amend as necessary during the financial year to achieve objectives/forecast.

To manage the development of brand sales and market share in line with the three year marketing plan.

Liaising with the manufacturers to control the continuous supply of product and manage stock levels to sustain reliable profitable service levels.

Work closely with the Company’s management to ensure the product and service offering meets customers’ needs now and as they evolve.

Key Responsibilities

Plan and prioritise sales activities and liaise with relevant colleagues to aid forecasting and stock management

Manage product mix, pricing and margins according to agreed aims

Organise and co-ordinate marketing activities, e.g. product launches, promotions, advertising and exhibitions with the marketing department.

Record, analyse and report on current market trends

Formulate an annual brand plan including product & range development, pricing, marketing communications & promotional activity for the brand across all channels to deliver margin and sales target.

Team

Managing Brand Coordinator's responsibilities, including;

o Stock Procurement

o Packaging Procurement

o Forecasting

o Management of critical paths to ensure timely delivery of new product launches

o Implementation of new procedures with suppliers to ensure availability

o Implementation of new internal procedures to constantly improve processes

o Recording of EPoS to maintain on going availability of high street retailers

o Producing forward forecasts for high street retailers supply chains to see and agree

o Reviewing orders vs EPoS from high street retailers to manage stocks appropriately

Sales (UK)

Managing/Working on a limited number of UK Accounts (TK Maxx / Garden Centre Group/ John Lewis / Murrays / QVC)

Working closely with NAM/KAM on UK Accounts advising on ranges which can be submitted and understanding other product opportunities

Producing and presenting product P&L for sign off by SD/FC in line with requirements set in the annual budget - inclusive of trade & retail prices

Holding brand specific Sales & Marketing meetings so the team has full visibility of activities and actions to be taken in order to gain new product listings and maximise opportunities to achieve sales budget. Includes web B2B / B2C

Stock Management

Managing stocks / discontinuing / exit plans

Sourcing new Contract Manufacturers / Suppliers both UK and International

Problem solving / Solution finding for unforeseen issues due to quality, labelling, packaging etc. etc.

The ideal candidate will be an experienced Brand Manager / Brand Controller within fmcg / consumer products - beauty, personal care or toiletries experience could be advantageous, but is not essential. You will be looking for a role with a great deal of autonomy & an opportunity to be part of of growing & exciting brand - rapid growth is forecast due to recent high profile customer gains. You will be comfortable working with suppliers from contract manufacturing to packaging, developing effective & profitable relationships. You will be enthusiastic, dynamic, ambitious & very well organised, combined with perhaps an entrepreneurial character, always striving for greater brand awareness & growth.
