Reporting into the Managing Director, the Retail Sales Manager will be working for a producer of cooked added value chilled and frozen meat products. Supplying key multiple and 2nd tier grocery customers, the business have achieved 20% year on year growth for over the last 5 years, now with a turnover in excess of £250 million. Due to this continued growth, there is now a requirement for a Retail Sales Manager to join their team in West Yorkshire, with the responsibility of managing Asda, Morrisons and Aldi.
As Retail Sales Manager, you shall be tasked with the development of the multiple retail channel. You will be expected to generate the right levels of return, whilst taking into consideration the company’s own position and the interests of your customers.
The main responsibilities shall include;
- Coaching, managing and developing a Junior Sales Manager.
- Selling the agreed portfolio of products into UK retail customers.
- Identifying and understanding you products unique selling points.
- Auditing customer ranges and competitor products.
- Presenting samples and managing customer sample requests.
- Improving existing customer relationships and developing all new business opportunities.
- Determining price levels which are then to be implemented.
You shall be expected to have at least 2 years’ experience working as a National Account/Commercial Manager within the multiple grocery channels. Product category is not specific, however own label added value exposure, working within the meat industry is preferred. Finally, it is expected that you will have a proven background in developing existing business, but have also have the ability to take on new challenges and gain experience from others.
