Head of Direct Sales - West Area (based in the Midlands covering across to Wales, Bristol and Cambridge)

This is an exciting opportunity to join the leadership team for Regional and Direct Sales during a period of significant change. This role will be based out of one of our Offices and reports to Director of Regional and Direct Sales.

The aim of the role is to:

* To ensure revenue targets are exceeded within the South Region during a period of evolving change
* To lead, motivate and coach the sales team within the region, whilst role modelling "one team" across the function
* To grow the team to realise the UK SME revenue opportunity, recruiting and on-boarding the right candidates who will quickly capture new business


Key Responsibilities:

* To lead, inspire, motivate, and deploy the members of the sales team - which include Area Sales Managers and field sales executives - to meet the requirement of their specific roles and the strategy

* To performance manage and identify development needs on a regular basis to achieve and exceed agreed KPIâs and sales targets

⢠Maximise performance of Sales Team, by being available to offer advice, coaching and direction when needed and ensure that Team present to clients in a professional and structured manner

⢠To establish and maintain a credible profile within the industry, demonstrating a clear understanding of our customer needs, value proposition and competitor strategies

⢠To analyse competitor and team activity to drive specific planning, targeting and reporting of sectors, areas and performance

⢠To recommend pricing policies in conjunction with the Director and peers, ensuring that it is adhered to by the Sales Team

⢠Ensure Team are achieving required appointment levels and are effectively prospecting and lead generating, to maximise new and repeat business via regular 1:1s feedback and field accompaniments

⢠Provide accurate forecasts of pipeline business and revenue forecasts

⢠Thorough geographical knowledge of your region strategically identify new areas to optimise sales and brand

⢠To manage the range of performance issues, looking to increase capability and recruit to build strength in the team

⢠Ensure all company policies are adhered to including Health and Safety, HR and that the necessary accurate and timely records are maintained

⢠To personally support the sales effort by building strong relationships with directors, Direct and Regional Leaders and colleagues across departments, to ensure that best practice is shared and communication is effective, consistent and at an optimum

⢠To participate in ad hoc projects as directed by the Regional and Direct Sales Director

⢠To role model and embed a culture of elite performance, engagement, integrity, collaboration, professionalism, discipline and innovation


Essential Experience and Knowledge:

This role requires a Sales Leader with experience of managing a field sales team and a leader of managers. They need a structured and disciplined approach to sales and deployment of a team, supported by the ability to lead, inspire, coach and motivate and performance manage during a period of change and growth.

They are a team player, confident in facilitating events and training, influencing internal and external senior stakeholders, customer groups and peers.

Achieved significant results in a business to business sales environment and demonstrated innovation and tenacity in improving the customer and employee experience
