The role:

An exciting opportunity to join our business as a Senior Category Manager has become available. You will be dedicated to one of the UK’s top 4 grocery retailers, where we are currently the category partner for frozen potato and frozen food. You will be the category expert to include; Product, Consumer, Market, Retailer, and Commercial understanding. A key element of this role will be to turn insight into strategies and actions which unlock category growth for McCain and our customers. These will be developed and delivered by working with all internal and external partners.

• Develop and implement shopper activation plans to realise category growth opportunities in line with the McCain Category Vision.
• Lead and develop talent within the team both through line management responsibility and development and sharing of best practice.
• Work closely with the sales team to maximise the performance of the core range within retailers to ensure maximum distribution and delivery of the brand plan.
• Build relationships across a network of key customer contacts to influence the frozen and frozen potato category for mutual benefit, through Category Reviews, Range Reviews, New Product Presentations and customer specific work.
• Contribute to McCain’s commercial strategy development and own the development of selling presentations and activation plans to execute our strategy with our customers and shoppers.

Requirements

To be considered for this exciting opportunity you will be a proven Category Manager within FMCG and have the talent, attitude and drive to progress your career within one of the UK’s largest food businesses. You will be creative in your approach and be able to turn insight into actions.

• Strong at analysing and interpreting data and presenting conclusions and recommendations.
• Experience of working with data from providers such as; Dunnhumby, Tesco link, Retail Link.
• Ability to manage projects and time effectively.
• Proven in developing and implementing shopper marketing activity.
• Ability to persuade and influence others and to develop relationships with internal and external customers.
