Interim Operations/Supply Chain Manager

c.£350-£450 per day plus expenses,  

based : Midlands 

Our client is a highly successful and growing £100m chilled foods business, manufacturing naturally healthy products in the “free-from” category. They have the market- leading brand in Europe with a 40% share of the  category and which also features in the Top 100 UK Grocery brands. Entrepreneurial, innovative and dynamic the business is currently experiencing double digit sales growth and is now seeking to quickly appoint an Interim Operations/Supply Chain Manager prior to the arrival of a permanent new starter.

The Interim role will be for a minimum period of 4 months and could potentially be extended further. The role is available to start immediately and will be Midlands (Birmingham) based.

Reporting to the Commercial Director, the Interim role will be responsible for managing a number of areas within the business including demand planning & forecasting, stock management, customer service plus full involvement in some current key supply chain and business projects.

Working cross-functionally with both UK and overseas colleagues there will be a high level of contact with the sales and commercial teams as well as the direct management of a small operations team in the UK and some contact with key retail customers. Additionally you will be required to report daily/weekly progress to senior management across a number of business performance measures.

For this position, we are looking for someone with a broad level of experience in FMCG operational management. Your specific background is less important and you may currently be working in a demand planning, forecasting or a supply chain role but have direct and regular contact with the key Grocery retail customers. Alternatively you may be a highly experienced Top 4 Grocery Multiple Account Manager and possess a strong appreciation and understanding of the forecasting, demand planning and supply chain processes. To be considered you will need to demonstrate a range of skills including commercial awareness, planning and organisation, attention to detail and ideally some previous people management experience.

The role is based at the company’s Head Office on the outskirts of Birmingham (M6/M42)
