Senior Commercial Manager – Foodservice  

£70,000 depending on experience, 25 days holiday, company car/car allowance, pension, bonus and health care

Reporting into the Sales Director, the Senior Commercial Manager will be working for one of the leading producers and suppliers of fine foods in the UK. Supplying across the foodservice and retail channels, the business have achieved double digit year on year growth for over the last 15 years, now with a turnover in excess of £250 million. Due to this continued growth, there is now a requirement for a Senior Commercial Manager to join their team in Surrey, with the responsibility of leading their foodservice team. 

The main responsibilities shall include;

  • Coaching, managing and developing a team of two Foodservice National Account Managers.
  • Performance managing the team whilst also managing specific foodservice accounts.
  • Understanding all areas of the business that impact upon sales and influence these to deliver on forecasted requirements.
  • Developing Joint Business Plans with the customer to deliver on all corporate objectives.
  • Identifying and securing all possible profitable opportunities and growing them to their full potential.
  • Creating a vision for the channel, working with their customers and suppliers to build their vision.
  • Decision making on business critical matters.

You shall be expected to have at least 2 years’ experience working as a Foodservice Senior Commercial Manager, managing a team. Product category is not specific; however you must have worked for an FMCG food supplier/manufacturer. You should have a working knowledge of NPD challenges and processes, with an excellent understanding of relationship building, and a customer mindset that delivers excellence and client trust. Finally, it is expected that you will have a proven background in not only developing existing accounts, but also winning new accounts.
