Our client is a £30 million fast-growing, fine food importer and distributor supplying a broad range of products from around the world to independent customers, major multiples and department stores, as well as to the wholesale and foodservice trades.

Reporting directly to the Sales Director, you will work closely across the whole business – Sales, Marketing, Finance and Purchasing. You will be involved in everything commercial and need to possess a highly inquisitive approach and love problem solving. There will be plenty of freedom and autonomy to set up new processes and operations. You will develop joint business plans with National Account Managers and Marketing teams, and monitor their performance, analysing and reporting on the effectiveness of promotional activity and making recommendations to the CEO and Leadership team.

 

Another responsibility will be for costings and margins, monitoring these and highlighting potential issues early on, and ensuring the performance of the commercial team against targets and budgets. Highly numerate, with strong presentation skills, and the ability to interpret significant amounts of data and highlight insight from external data sources.

Due to the nature of the position and analysis and reporting, an absolute must for the role is a high level of skill with Excel.

Fast paced and highly adaptable, this brand new role would best suit a recent graduate with a year’s FMCG/Commercial experience under your belt or even a placement year as part of your degree. Enthusiastic, capable, vocal and possessing the ability to multi-task and prioritise tasks, its not a role for a wallflower but someone who wants to make an impact early on in their career in a business that will empower you to initiate change and develop new ways of working.
