Basic Salary Circa £35,000 to £40,000 + Excellent Package

 

My client is a well-known and reputable manufacturer within the Food market and boasts a strong UK base with 8 global sites. They constantly push the boundaries of innovation within their field and employ a team of technical experts to create the products that they are highly respected for. They are constantly looking for talented individuals who share the same passion and ambition as they do, and as such they are currently looking for an Interim Category Manager.

 

The Role:

  • Reporting into the Global Marketing Manager, you will develop category plans to support the annual marketing plan, whilst leading quarterly category meetings with the team.
  • Working closely with the relevant Account Manager, Technical and NPD teams you will oversee the category plans in a strategic manner making sure all appropriate material and plans are actioned on time.
  • Through liaising with external agencies, you will build and manage on-going relationships, as well as playing a role in the digital marketing within the business. 
  • You will carry out customer research and presentation support for both the commercial and technical teams, and will be able to play a key role in supporting business recommendations on marketing and category planning. 
  • A piece of this role will revolve around managerial duties; you will have the ability to manage ad-hoc project initiatives leading internal teams as required:  E.G.  Launches and on-going customer requests, and will deputise for the Marketing Manager when necessary.

The Requirements:

 

  • Demonstrable experience of marking within a B2B environment is a prerequisite.
  • With the ability to demonstrate analytical thinking you will also be a strong communicator with excellent presentation skills, combined with the appropriate IT skills required for category marketing.
  • You will have the ability to build effective strategic working relationships, whilst being able to influence across departments.
  • In turn you will be a good team player and act as an ambassador for my clients internal values.
  • Demonstrable digital marketing experience; preferably B2B, would be desirable.
  • A degree would be advantageous, as would experience within Food Marketing.
  • Furthermore, technical knowledge around NPD or Quality Control would also be added bonus.
