Job Details

Sales/National Account Controller – Garden Furniture

£60-70,000 Basic, 20% bonus ( plus discretionary bonus ), Car allowance + Benefits.

Leading Company within this sector are now looking for a Sales Manager / Controller to manage a team of four NAMs, plus to have responsibility for their own portfolio of personal customers. Our Client anticipates that somewhere between 30% to 40% of this person’s time will be taken up by man management responsibility and the rest by Personal Strategic Account Management responsibilities.

This is what they are looking for :

  1. Somebody who has had good exposure to any top four grocery retailer and / or Argos ( top four is more important than Argos ). This is an essential.
  2. Candidates must have good experience of some kind of man management / leadership position, ideally SNAM or Sales Controller or similar. The person is taking over a team of seasoned professionals, any of whom might want to do this job. The job holder needs to be able to demonstrate immediate leadership and to take firm but gentle control of the team from day one. This is an essential. Candidates need to know how people work within an organisation and how to manage them. They need to understand how to manage different personality types and to be able to demonstrate that they have got their management hands dirty in their current / past roles.
  3. Candidates must be from an Own Label background

It would also be very good if candidates had good exposure to department stores such as John Lewis, House of Fraser, Debenhams, Harrods, Selfridges, either recently or earlier in their career.

Our Client has a Distribution Depot in the Midlands and a Commercial office in the Bristol area. Candidates need to be in the office 3 to 4 days per week  so they can either live within commuting distance of the office or they can live further afield and stay over ( at the company’s expense ).

The ideal categories from which candidates could come is : Garden Furniture, Gifting, Toys, Xmas/Seasonal Lines, Party Wear, Photo frames / albums, Garden Tools, Gifting, Gardening / Horticulture, SDAs, Consumer Electronics, any pretty much anything that is imported from China / the far East on an FOB basis

Remuneration £60k to £70k Basic, 20% bonus ( plus discretionary bonus ), Car allowance + Benefits.
