International Sales Manager – FMCG / Spirits, Beer & Tobacco

Protégé International Limited is a sales and marketing company based in West London managing a range of premium international spirits, beer and tobacco brands. We have exclusive worldwide rights to a unique premium Irish spirits portfolio, including the acclaimed Wild Geese Irish whiskey collection, (three times voted Best Irish Whiskey), a premium rum collection and a newly launched super premium Irish vodka, Irish gin and Irish Honey Whiskey liqueur. 

Following the addition of the latest new and exciting spirit brands to our portfolio, we are seeking an experienced international sales manager to join our team to extend and grow sales distribution across international markets in Europe and Asia, exploiting the portfolio’s sales potential to the maximum.

Position: INTERNATIONAL SALES MANAGER

Sector: Spirits, Beer & Tobacco

Salary: OTE £55,000 per annum. Base £44,000

Location: UK base, operating internationally, covering Europe and Asia

Contract: Permanent

Hours: Full time, Monday – Friday, including some weekend travel

Start Date:   Immediately

Your remit will be to identify, build and manage sales distributor relationships in market.  You will develop annual business plans for your region, markets and customers, presenting regional strategies and business plans to management and distributors, as required. You will be skilled at developing compelling brand activation plans at channel level in conjunction with distributor partners, allocating cost effective A&P investment by market and channel. 

We also license and produce the Route 66 beer brand.  The successful candidate will be required to identify new distribution partners and routes to market for our beer brand, developing plans to grow consumer brand awareness and adoption, leading to increased market penetration in Central and Eastern European markets.

The role requires a strong track record in building international FMCG distribution (with direct experience in premium branded spirits and/or tobacco, as well as a foreign language, considered a strong advantage).  Candidates must be able to demonstrate having developed strong working relationships and managing and inspiring 3rd party distributors to jointly develop and execute excellent domestic sales and marketing plans, championing and presenting to distributor sales teams, inspiring them to grow branded sales across all trade channels. 

Achieving credible sales and distribution growth must be in your DNA.  We seek a collaborative, team-oriented and entrepreneurial individual, who is naturally results oriented, driven by their own entrepreneurial spirit, focused upon achieving brand competitive advantage, and excited by the challenge of succeeding against currently entrenched and dominant players with significantly greater resources.  You will be required to deliver the market P&L implementing all agreed business activities in the area/region within defined time frames.

Protégé International Limited welcomes applications from candidates with a minimum of 3 years’ experience winning international business.  You must be willing to spend time travelling overseas, possess excellent presentation skills aligned with strong computer skills, and be able to demonstrate good analytical knowledge, supported with Excel at an intermediate level.
