Our client is currently looking for an ambitious, passionate, highly motivated, creative and entrepreneurial Head of Marketing to join a very successful business managing the launch of a new consumer brand. You will need to be customer focused and have experience across Brand, Customer Experience, Retention/Acquisition, Propositions, Digital and launching “disruptor brands” into the market across the UK&I. You will have 4 direct reports, with additional indirect reports.

This is a new role with a very well known Retail brand. However, this organisation is launching a new proposition to the market, so the culture will almost be a start up, creative, fast paced environment within. This part of the business will allow you to really drive change and implement ideas and refreshing for those seeking a move from a slow moving corporate.   

 

THE ROLE 

 

You will lead the consumer marketing and retention teams to devise, plan and implement the consumer marketing and retention roadmap to acquire incremental customers and grow and retain profitable customers. Accountable for the development and performance of pre and post pay branded propositions that support the multi-channel trading plan and commercial KPI’s.

Create the loyalty strategy, creating efficient and effective plans with propositions to maximise customer lifetime value and achieve upgrade, churn and CLV targets.

Key responsibilities include:

Develop the customer lifetime strategy - including but not limited to:

  • Working with insights teams to lead proactive insight roadmap to understand the market and consumer needs
  • Lead teams and the development of new propositions (with the Head of Propositions) for acquisition, tactical promotions, across online, retail and telesales channels
  • Create commercially profitable products, propositions and value added services
  • Develop innovative branded propositions based on consumer insight
  • Mobile subject matter expert on competitor acquisition and retention offerings in the UK market place

GTM (go to market)– Delivery:

  • Launch propositions within the GTM process and framework, engaging key internal and external partners/stakeholders and project managing propositions where needed
  • Launch propositions within agreed budgets, resource and timeframes requirements
  • Post implementation performance review undertaken for each proposition and shared across business

Loyalty and retention:

  • Proactively review and mange performance and profitability of existing propositions
  • Evolve and adapt propositions based on performance, market conditions and customer insight
  • Create propositions for existing base to ensure churn, upgrade and revenue targets are achieved
  • Define and deliver in life communications plan for customers
  • Implement CRM system to deliver maximum return on upgrading customers
  • Lead the implementation of new strategies and products to deliver added value from the base.

This role is very much geared towards Brand, Customer Experience, Propositions, CRM and launching a new consumer brand. Background in a start up or launching new brands will be a major plus, as well as experience in the mobile sector. This role will also appeal to someone who thrives in a fast paced, creative and innovative environment. 

 

THE PERSON

 

The ideal candidate will have the following:

  • Strategic planning experience
  • Analytical and commercial skills – understanding the commercial levers to achieve objectives
  • Negotiation & including skills with internal and external partners
  • Relationship building & people management
  • Good creative judgement and excellent communication skills
  • Acquisition experience within retail and mobile telecoms sector a big plus
  • Product development, delivery and rationalisation
  • Retention strategy development – tactical and strategic
  • Customer focus, analysis and insight
  • CRM solution development & requirements
  • Working knowledge and experience of working with customer service teams.
  • Mobile or MVNO experience is advantageous
