A great opportunity to work on a major food retailer account within the value added meat sector.

This Account Manager position will oversee a major retailer account with this multi- site food manufacturing group. You will take responsibility for managing existing business and look for opportunities to develop sales growth within your designated product category. Through effective market analysis you will present new growth opportunities while defending the existing business. Working with the NPD and Marketing teams you will help them understand the customers' needs and what new food products the market is missing.

Responsibilities:
  • Develop and maintain excellent relationships with customers
  • Work closely with NPD team to support delivery of new products
  • Share and understand data with the marketing team
  • Take responsibility for day to day Account Management activities such as customer queries, retailer visits, hitting customer service levels.
  • Utilise retailer systems to support decision making
  • Deliver annual sales plans
  • Work with retailer and Account Director to plan promotions
  • Conduct seasonal reviews to aide planning
  • Use in depth knowledge of the market to support the Account Director in new tenders.


The ideal person for this role will have a background in the food industry within a sales environment, understand retailer systems, have excellent analytical and communication skills and be adept in developing strong customer relationships. Experience within the meat category would be advantageous but other food product experience can be considered.

PLEASE NOTE: This role will be split between two sites - one in North Lincolnshire and one in North Yorkshire so flexibility on travel in your working week is required.
