Our client is a hugely successful consumer durables business with a market leading product portfolio and unrivalled distribution within retail. As pioneers within their industry, product development is the key to their on going success and so a new Product Manager position has been created to support this long term vision for growth.

The Product Manager is responsible for delivering a commercially successful product range in line with the company product strategy. You will build new products from existing ideas and help to develop new ideas from industry knowledge and contact with suppliers and customers. You will blend technical know how with a big picture vision to bring concepts into reality and finally into retail.

Key responsibilities:
  • Specifying market requirements for current and future products by conducting market research supported by on-going visits to customers and non-customers.
  • Review competitors' product ranges and pricing - identify opportunities.
  • Provide the business with market intelligence and information on potential threats and opportunities
  • Work with suppliers on range management and technical information.
  • Work with the Product Marketing Manager to assess product ranges and identify opportunities for extensions, amends, delisting, price changes, etc.
  • Source products and suppliers - assessing the market opportunities and submitting proposals for approval
  • Create new concepts for products.
  • Use cost analysis to create a business case for proposed projects.
  • Attend trade shows
  • Provide product technical support
  • Smooth management of product development process
  • Provide Sales and Marketing with product information that will assist in product launches


You will be an experienced product manager with sound commercial understanding of the product development process including business case development and ROI measurement. You will possess first class project management skills and must demonstrate your ability to work cross functionally as part of a wider team.
