Dynamic, pioneering and inspiring, Camelot transforms lives - of National Lottery winners, of the beneficiaries of the Good Causes, and of our staff. We're licensed to run the National Lottery until 2023, and are committed to maximising returns to the Good Causes in the most efficient and socially responsible way. We run the world's most successful lottery website and operate four of the UK's biggest brands including Lotto and EuroMillions - all whilst returning £30 million a week to the Good Causes.

Our people are what make all this happen - that’s where you come in. We’re looking for talent as big as our brands.

We are looking to recruit an experienced Retail Business Manager (RBM) within our Field Sales team to manage a team of 8 Retail Sales Executives. You will cover Newcastle, York and Leeds and be home based with regular travel between these areas.

This is an exciting and varied role to achieve the budgeted sales revenue within the designated region through developing a Region Business Plan and managing a team of Retail Sales Executives (RSEs) to implement the agreed regional and customer strategies.

The Sales Department will execute our consumer strategies through our national account, field sales and contact centre channels, working towards perfect instore execution of our category through a focus on distribution, merchandising and retailer advocacy.  Each of these three areas will also look to initiate new in-channel strategies, services and propositions that better meet consumer and retailer needs, fulfilled by the wider commercial and operational organisations.  All activities will be developed and delivered in a socially-responsible manner that meets the values of the National Lottery and optimises the returns to good causes and the aligned incentives of National Lottery stakeholders.

The role

The ideal candidate will have worked within a similar marketing role before, in particular demonstrating:

  • Deliver the sales revenue targets for the designated region.

  • Lead, motivate and manage a team of Retail Sales Executives (RSEs) to deliver the revenue targets within budget, ensuring the team complies with the necessary player protection and mandatory National Lottery Commission (NLC) requirements.
  • Implement the customer contact strategy in line with customer and sector, maximising time spent to business need through efficient journey planning.
  • Provide the business with key insights into customer and market developments within the region.

The person

We are looking for somebody that has previous Field Sales Manager experience that will be able to motivate and build your teams performance. You will be able to pick up strategic priorities quickly and work with your team to deliver these.

You will also be experienced in the following areas:

  • Previous experience of managing Field Sales Teams
  • Demonstrable experience of journey planning
  • Demonstrable experience of account management
  • Demonstrable experience of successful face-to-face selling
  • Proven presentation and negotiation skills

Company

We're a games business that’s fast, innovative and fun.

To get where we’re headed tomorrow, we need to do the right things today. Our Vision helps us centre our efforts around an ambitious but achievable goal: to run the world’s favourite national lottery. And we’ll do it by celebrating what we’ve been for more than two decades now and aspiring to be a games business that’s fast, innovative and fun.

That means getting serious about play and making work fun. Because we know the best way to deliver games customers love to play is by creating a place people love to work. Teaming up and making more of the nation’s favourite games. Because it’s only by bringing our diverse perspectives, skills and ideas together that we’ll continue to innovate our games portfolio and entice new customers to play ¬– in shops, online and on-the-go.

We're growing to change even more lives.

Our Ambition and strategy for long-term, responsible growth has seen total National Lottery sales grow by over 52% in the last decade. And this continued strong commercial focus is not at the expense of our Mission to change lives; it’s the engine of it. Enabling us to give £34m a week to good causes an increase of a remarkable £167m per year. And we want to keep growing.

That’s our bright future. But we won’t reach it by standing still. We need to keep moving forward as a business and growing as a team. Developing stronger player relationships by better understanding their needs; innovating in the games we offer and how people can play them; and telling the story of an iconic brand that marries playfulness with purpose. Where are we headed? It’s simple. To a future where we’ve grown together to change even more lives.
