My client is a global FMCG business based in the North West.  A hugely fast paced business operating across brand and private label, my client offers a vast amount of career progression opportunities at all levels.

The Role

As Marketing Controller you will have responsibility across a specific category with a team to support you.  This is a commercial role and successful candidates will have previous experience in managing/ working closely to JBPs, having a detailed approach as well as an analytical mind.  The Marketing Controller will work closely with Buyers and Product Developers, setting a clear vision for the category.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:                                           

• Overall responsibility for marketing activity across a specific category, paying particular attention towards in-store marketing activity
• Manage a team of 2 across a specific category within FMCG
• Manage a significant P&L
• Drive marketing agenda with the grocery multiples, with a steer towards category management

• Experience of leading and developing a team
• Capable of understanding/ working to/ familiar with JBPs
• Experience of operating within a senior role in FMCG or consumer goods
• MUST have worked with the grocery multiples

The Ideal Candidate

Successful candidates will have already operated in a diverse consumer marketing role, within FMCG.  You will be hugely commercial, and someone who ‘gets’ finance, capable of leading a marketing team through to delivery.  You will be familiar with operating in a fast paced environment, with demonstrable experience of P&L management and capable of working closely with buyers.  A team player is a must.
