A high-profile P&L role leading Singles & Formats for the major grocery multiples – critical to our business execution of Small Box strategy and the Convenience Battlefield.

Spearheading the Morrisons and Sainsbury's format business, with full accountability for the Sainsbury's Singles P&L across all store formats (Online, Convenience, and PFS) is the key to this exciting NAM role, because formats represent our fastest-growing area of opportunity in the grocery environment.  Reporting to our Core Grocery Trading Director, you'll drive relationships with key contacts to manage existing business across the formats whilst identifying new business opportunities to drive profitable sales and share growth in a truly dynamic environment.  Other key deliverables include:  

  • Knowledge management 
  • Development and ownership of the team meeting agenda  
  • Team Wiki ownership, including training leadership 

Of graduate calibre, you may well be new to the trading environment but certainly have high potential.  You will, however, need some trade-facing experience, including the creation of collaborative relationships, with a proven drive for results and a well-honed ability to deal with ambiguity.  Combining well-developed functional, technical and analytical skills you're highly action-orientated and strong on negotiation and organisational agility.  Along with acknowledged planning and priority-setting capability, your other attributes include:  

  • Real customer focus 
  • Strengths in developing peer relationships 
  • The ability to deliver consistent results  
  • Comfort around navigating complex challenges
