The Role

The Detail

This role requires a combination of skills, industry knowledge and an ability to operate and deliver in a complex fast paced, challenging food production environment. This individual needs to be an industry specialist, a point of reference for the business on all areas of produce supply with a focus on the dairy / egg proteins we use. This includes all dairy & egg proteins including milk liquid and cultured dairy containing materials.

As part of this you'll be building lots of relationships across a wide variety of people including:

• The factory production environment to maintain an understanding of operational needs, challenges and constraints
• The Commercial and Innovation teams to support and delivery NPD and Commercial Strategies
• Purchasing partnership with site/central buyers to ensure alignment of commercial and technical agendas
• Customers and Suppliers - to develop and maintaining a "trust relationships" with both Customers and Suppliers to support and focus develop and deliver technical and commercial agendas - e.g. "Right first Time Supply of Raw Materials"
• Universities & Research Institutions to maintain the level of knowledge that you will need to be able to look for new avenues and maintain your status as the Subject Matter Expert

Measures of success will be reduced complaints, yield %, recipe cost, number of concessions, numbers of people trained, quality improvements, customer recognition number of new innovations. You'll also look to deliver continual positive change to the business through the application of science and technology developing excellence in materials, ingredients and processes such that these areas add value to our business.

You'll also be responsible for promoting the science of dairy and egg proteins within Greencore and you'll be responsible for delivering an increasing level of competence, expertise and understanding based around the science and technology of key materials. Through this you'll be able drive improvement and innovation programmes to create a differentiated approach to the proteins we use.

With the knowledge that you have and that you'll continue to gain you'll become an expert that suppliers trust and you will help both them and us grow our competencies through bringing together the knowledge we have. You will also deliver this expertise and knowledge into our customers providing a point of contact where they trust us due to our understanding.


What we look for

You will be THE Subject Matter Expert for our company, as such you'll have a very strong industry presence and you'll really know the dairy and eggs market. You'll also be required to communicate with everyone at every level of the business so it's important that you're able to take the knowledge you have and synthesise it for any environment. You'll also be able to use this combination of knowledge, presence and communication skills to influence relationships with suppliers and with M&S.

You'll have a strong dairy and egg expertise through education and work experience, ideally with direct knowledge/ experience of dairy and egg supply chains.

Naturally in a fast flowing, fast paced consumer business you'll be asked to adapt to change on a very regular basis - this will come naturally to you. You'll also be able to pick up project management via multi-discipline teams.
