Marketing Manager

The Company

This is a commercially driven role with a major global and well known brand within FMCG, non food. It is seen as a pivotal hire whereby you will operate across Retail and B2B markets with the organisation’s three categories.  

The Role

Our client is currently looking for an ambitious, passionate and highly motivated Marketing Manager to join the business. This is a relatively full mix role but with a strong emphasis on Trade mainly, but also Category, Insights, POS/POP. This role requires the candidate to manage a team of 4 FTE, so leadership experience is vitally important as well. It is a very commercially driven role within FMCG across multiple categories. 

Some key responsibilities include:

• Managing a team of 4 direct reports – coach, develop, motivate, define objectives and lead
• Lead the team in designing local marketing strategy and marketing plans for the cluster by channel
• Support the team in designing local marketing and trade marketing support to the sales team by:
• Providing the most appropriate and cost effective POS/POP materials
• Managing local SKUs creation following guidelines
• Setting up local PR programs
• Deploy and adapt the European Marketing Strategy for implementation in the UK&I
• Contribute to business development and support delivery of key financial market KPI’s
• Defend the profitability of the categories and ensure analysis of post activity/campaign ROI and effectiveness
• Support the team in managing local promotions
• Support the business with regular business processes such as forecasting and budgeting
• Prepare and monitor all brand support budget for all categories.

The Candidate

The ideal candidate will have the following:

• Management/leadership experience is essential as you will have 4 direct reports
• You will  need to be analytical and commercially minded 
• You will ideally come from an FMCG Marketing background or Retail
• You must have UK experience and the ability to manage a diverse range of stakeholders
• Experience across both B2B and Retail is essential
• Comfortable across the full marketing mix with a strong background in Trade Marketing, Analysis, Category is essential
