Buying Office Assistant

We are looking for a talented and well organised professional with buying, procurement or supply chain experience in the fresh food / produce (fruit and vegetables) industry to support their buying team with their ambitious growth strategy.

Initially on a 12 month contract basis, you will be responsible for assisting the Buying team with the implementation and delivery of a profitable product range that will maximise sales and increase market-share in what is an exceptionally competitive field. You will also be involved in working with the Buyer on range planning, packaging and availability, minimising wastage and overstocks to ensure the departments achieves sales and profit targets

This position will enable you to develop your expertise in supplier identification, strategic planning, range direction in a fast paced retail environment. Thus it would really suit a buying office professional looking to drive their career forward and contribute to the continued success of this international retailing giant. To be considered you will ideally have experience in a short shelf life (preferably fruit or vegetables) product category, but other food backgrounds will be considered.

The successful applicant will be offered a 12 month contract in the first instance, however this business have a policy of promoting from within and thus it is likely that permanent opportunities will arise during this period. In return the job holder will have the opportunity to contribute to the ongoing expansion of this phenomenally successful business
