My Client is an award-winning supplier of high quality own-label chilled foods to the Top 4 grocers and multiples as well as Food Service. As a business they work across Europe and provide full 360 solutions for retailers from NPD to design and category management. Having already established business with all the leading Grocers in the UK they are now targeting international growth through partnering with retailers around Europe. Their main products are within the chilled-food category however they also work within the frozen food and bakery markets too.

Due to significant growth within the business an additional Category Manager is required to assist the Insights Manager and Senior Category Manager – this is an excellent opportunity for a driven Category Manager/Executive with minimal experience to gain exceptional knowledge of Category Management and increase their responsibilities and future career progression.

Role:

This role will assist in providing insight and analysis on core categories and using your findings to drive growth. Using data from a variety of sources, you will collate, interpret and provide recommendations to optimise category performance. You will represent the voice of the consumer, helping retail customers and internal stakeholders make more informed decisions.

The successful candidate’s main responsibilities will be:

• Deliver actionable and fact based insights to commercial and other teams across the business
• Prepare and deliver retailer presentations
• Take ownership of regular reporting on your categories
• Provide analysis by customer, brand, category, channel etc to understand and drive category performance
• Interpret information from a wide set of data sources and build into a coherent story
• Support in delivering long term category plans
• Influence strategic decision makers

Requirements:

To be considered for this role you will need the following:

• Passion for food with an interest in the food industry.
• FMCG experience desirable
• Excellent attention to detail and high level of accuracy
• Experience in working with continuous (e.g. Kantar, Dunnhumby) or adhoc market and consumer data
• Ability to analyse and condense large amounts of data and explain in a clear, concise manner
• Persistence in achieving very high standards
• Building effective networks externally and internally
• Organisation with the ability to multi task and adapt to changing priorities
