Hovis Limited is a vertically integrated baking and flour milling business currently operated by The Gores Group as part of a stand-alone joint venture. The Company was created in April 2014 to help release new investment to upgrade its operational infrastructure and reinvigorate the Hovis brand, building on its rich heritage. Newly appointed Executive Chairman Nish Kankiwala is bringing a wealth of commercial and marketing experience from previous roles with Unilever, Pepsico and Burger King.

Hovis Limited also makes Mothers Pride, Ormo and retailer branded bakery products and supplies flour to a range of customers under its Rank Hovis, Fleming Howden and Holgran trading platforms

  • You must have experience within the buying arena have understanding of procurement tools and techniques
  • Good, working knowledge of procurement performance measures, processes and contracts
  • In-depth knowledge of the extended Supply Chain functions (P2P)( Desirable)
  • Relevant degree (or equivalent)MCIPS or studying towards( Desirable)
  • Detailed orientated and high organised along with drive and passion to work for an icon brand. Innovative thinker with ability to generate / deliver valued added procurement solutions that positively affect the performance of the business, through effective negotiation with suppliers and appropriate liaison with business stakeholders
  • Analytical with the ability to measure and provide meaningful Procurement management data
  • Effective and adaptable communicator with strong interpersonal and relationship building skills
  • Ability to develop and maintain good, collaborative, professional relationships with suppliers and business stakeholders

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES& RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Work closely with the Fleming Howden sales teams to provide the correct product range to meet the needs of our customer base
  • Manage a portfolio of 80 direct to Fleming Howden suppliers with a total annual spend of £2m
  • To ensure that market intelligence gained through the internal sales team(s) is acted upon in a timely manner and communicated effectively with suppliers & central Procurement when appropriate.
  • Where appropriate, the evaluation, selection and management of suppliers, acting as a point of escalation for any supplier issues experienced by the business, to include timely resolution of invoices queries etc....
  • Implementation of initiatives, through effective planning and project management.
  • Work with central Procurement to provide regular market analysis, benchmark data and supplier evaluation, to support sales planning
  • Responsible for supplier performance management, continuous improvement and appropriate escalation to central Procurement, to ensure contracts meet and exceed business objectives of cost, quality and service.
  • Provide volume and price forecasts for budget and forecasting processes.
  • Responsible for performance reporting.
  • Ensuring compliance to Procurement and any other business policies and procedures.
