About the role

Like every Agency office, our Takely office is at the heart of the local community. This well-established and well-respected insurance sales business has huge potential to grow and develop further – and that’s where you come in.

With a gift for sales, you’ll thrive on this opportunity to develop new and existing insurance business – this could be anything from bakers to builders, florists to hairdressers. We want you to get out there and build great relationships with local businesses, promoting and selling our diverse range of award-winning insurance and financial products. But it’s never a case of bringing in new clients and then handing them over to another team member. Like everyone here, you’ll forge long-term relationships based on trust and understanding, and you’ll make sure that we’re paying as much attention to our existing customers as we are to new ones. Working in partnership with the Senior Agent, you’ll also help ensure that the whole Agency runs smoothly, assisting colleagues in reaching their targets while maintaining the attentive personal service we’re famous for.  

About you

It’s important that you have impressive sales skills, coupled with excellent communication skills. Simply because we want you to start developing new business from the word go. We’d also like you to have some knowledge of insurance, but you don’t need to know all about our products – we’ll give you all the product training you need to get up to speed. You’ll need to be a quick starter, someone who thrives on responsibility and autonomy; someone who makes things happen rather than waits for them to fall into place. But it’s not just what you do that matters, it’s how you do it: you’re confident and motivated but never brash, persuasive without being pushy. You’re a people person too, easy to get on with and someone who enjoys working with and managing a dedicated team. More than anything, you understand that you get out what you put in – you’re not afraid of hard work and you’re ready to enjoy the rewards it brings.

Of course, we’ll provide you with all the practical and logistical support you need to do great things. But the financial and professional success of the office is in your hands – and that’s challenging and rewarding in equal measure. As a commissioned NFU Mutual Agent, you’ll be self-employed, which means that you’re in charge of your own earnings, and the potential to earn is uncapped.
