National Account Controller – Prepared Chilled Foods

£70,000 to £100,000 depending on experience, 25 days holiday, company car, pension, 25% bonus and health care

Reporting into the Sales Director, the National Account Controller will be working for one of the leading producers of own label prepared chilled foods, supplying both Tesco and Asda, managing a team of 3 National Account Managers. Since the company’s incorporation, the business has now grown, turning over in excess of £150million within the UK. Due to continued growth, there is now a requirement for a National Account Controller to join their team in Sussex.

The main responsibilities shall include;

• Managing and developing the relationship with specific accounts including Tesco and Asda.
• Developing Joint Business Plans with the customer to deliver on all corporate objectives.
• Understanding all areas of the business that impact upon sales and influence these to deliver forecasted requirements.
• Managing three National Account Managers whilst also supporting Category and NPD when necessary.
• Ensuring all customer needs and plans are met in line with the business and the business strategy.

You shall be expected to have at least 3 years’ experience working as a National Account Controller, working in a chilled food/short shelf life category. In addition, you will have experience working with at least one of the Top 4 retailers, ideally Tesco or Asda. You should have a working knowledge of NPD challenges and processes, with an excellent understanding of relationship building, with a customer mindset that delivers excellence and client trust.
