My client is a global manufacturer of chocolate and confectionery products. Founded shortly after the Second World War, this company is now the home of some extremely iconic brands. The organisation saw tremendous growth and success in the mid-nineties from a chocolate-nut spread, which has gone on to be one of the most recognised brands in the world. The company has over 20 sites across the globe and currently turnover £240million in the UK market.  Last year my client continued the growth of their outstanding product portfolio by introducing a line of frozen products; receiving an innovation award for the frozen dessert range.

Role

The National Account Manager will be responsible for all aspects of the Spar UK business. Reporting to the Business Unit Controller – Convenience, the National Account Manager will be supported where necessary and allowed to work independently in order to provide autonomy within the role. As National Account Manager your main responsibilities will include:

  • Customer Management
  • Business and strategic planning
  • Financial planning
  • Selling & Negotiation
  • Supporting Junior Team Members

Candidate

The successful applicant will be able to display previous account management experience demonstrating both financial and business acumen: interpersonal and negotiation skills across hierarchical levels; computer skills e.g. Excel; numeracy; marketing or supply chain experience will be advantageous. Any candidate will be expected to understand UK trade, distribution and confectionery markets. As the position is home-based the individual must be self-motivated, organised and driven to succeed in a sales environment.
