Commodities Buyer

A great opportunity has arisen to join a successful and varied FTSE 100 business as a Commodities Buyer.

The key responsibilities for this role will include –

Monitoring and assessing key market drivers and new developments in order to develop innovative sourcing strategies for key commodity derived products.

Drive best in class commodity procurement in all of the businesses operating regions, both internally but also externally (staying close to domestic process, competitor activity and moves)

Beat the Market performance, driving a competitive advantage for the Group.

The essential skills / experience that will needed include –

Graduate with proven work experience in a commercial environment ideally within Commodity buying for retail and / or Fast Moving Consumer Goods, Supply Chain or Logistics.

Experience and knowledge of international agricultural commodities.

First class presentation and stakeholder management skills.

Strategic thinking capabilities and entrepreneurial spirit with the ability to generate ideas for business improvements and is able to implement them.

Eager to experience different working environments and cultures, able to adjust to change quickly and keen to take on new challenges.

Strong focus on performance; set high standards, goal orientated, ambitious and able to maintain performance under pressure.

A strong interest in the commodities and/ or supply chain and logistics industries.

You must have experience of the following Buyer, Purchasing, Procurement, Purchaser, Buying Manager, Commodities Buyer etc.
