Greencore Prepared Meals is a major manufacturer of chilled prepared meals, chilled pasta sauces and soups as well as meat spreads and a leading producer of quiche. It has five well-invested facilities in Kiveton, Warrington, Wisbech, Consett and Bristol. Greencore manufactures in excess of 150 million prepared meals each year.
The Role
To provide assistance within the HR function on a variety of task areas. Developing the individuals skills base and understanding of the HR profession.
Key Accountabilities
Support - Provide support to the HR team in such matters as recruitment & selection, training and retention. Temporary Labour - Facilitating the temporary labour utilised on site, ensuring that the labour provided meets the requirements of the business. Monitoring the cost and numbers of temporary labour working on site, challenging its use where necessary. Administration - Input and manipulate data on the HR system to provide a report service to the team reporting against Key Performance Indicators. Communication - To help promote a good employee relations climate through communications with employees, managers and the union. Value and use effective communication to achieve objectives. Understand colleagues needs for information. Select appropriate communication channels to achieve objectives. Assist Managers in promoting and complying with Kiveton's values & behaviours. Projects - Undertake 'one-off' membership roles within projects around the business to add business benefit. Counselling/Discipline/Grievance - Assistance to managers and colleagues with basic matters in line with the company policies. Performance Management Systems - Administration and tracking of the various performance management systems which we operate on site. Communications Framework - Ensuring the effective and timely delivery of the communication framework including the Bimonthly newsletter and Core Brief. Obtain news articles and design the relevant items. Absence Reporting - Assisting operations with the management of sickness and unauthorised absence to ensure that information in relation to trended and persistent absence is readily available so as to challenge individuals on their reliability and timekeeping. Health, Safety and Environment - Supporting the Health, Safety and Environment team by ensuring that yourself and other employees work accordingly. Corporate Responsibility - Completing work which demonstrates the site's corporate responsibility by building relationships with local press, community groups and education establishments. Ensuring support to these organisations adds business benefit to ourselves and is cost sensitive whilst promoting GPF as an Employer of Choice. Policies and Procedures - Assist the HR team with the implementation of new policies and procedures within the operational and support functions. Additional Benefits - Liaise with local and national organisations to secure preferential services for our employees and promote these services to our employees through provider site visits and promotional materials. Review existing benefits to ensure these are relevant and worthwhile for our employees.
Skills & Experience
A level or equivalent preferred Studying towards CIPD qualification preferable
