Poised for further major growth, our client (a very well-known plc) is transforming modern Agri-Tech innovation. As such they are actively seeking an extremely high calibre individual as Head of Global Marketing and Business Development. This is to continue the company’s transformation into a market leader not only in the UK and Europe but also internationally, particularly Latin America and the United States.

The role involves taking ownership of the company’s product strategy across the existing product range globally. Within this you will implement your marketing leadership whilst creating/recruiting a cohesive marketing and strategic team to further accelerate profitable growth in its entire key product lines. Included in the remit will be all elements of Corporate Communications as well. This will include; communications  to the industry (globally), to the employees on a multi-site and International basis and to the businesses plc investor community on-going.

You will report into the Main plc Board and work very closely with the Executive team to ensure appropriate strategic plans are aligned with the commercial elements in all aspects in order to meet aggressive growth plan expectations.

Key Accountabilities for the role: 

  • Analyse the market and potential opportunities to seek out further opportunities for the plc’s product portfolio.
  • Devise, propose and implement effective marketing strategies that will facilitate the development and launch of new products.
  • Take responsibility for Marketing Communications to further build the businesses profile, brand image and positioning in the market place both in the UK and Internationally.
  • Define marketing team structure and roles as well as setting the specific targets (KPIs) on-going.
  • Setting and overseeing marketing budgets (in-house, freelancer and agency).
  • Seek out and exploit high level business opportunities with current and prospective customers creating highly profitable revenue streams.
  • Work closely with the CEO in building the strategy and future commercial partnerships on a global basis.

What we want to see:

  • Agricultural technology or Life Science background and ideally a formal marketing qualification related to this level of role.
  • Minimum 8-10 years of senior level experience in an international type of related business (Agri-Business/Agrochemical/ Life Science).
  • A highly skilled communicator with superior written and presentation skills.
  • A grasp of EU languages would be highly beneficial.
  • Exceptional people management and strategic development skills to ensure your team are all working to the common goal of driving substantial business unit growth.
